PSPTunes

PSPTunes is a music player for the PSP. It allows you to browse the web while listening to music! It works using Macromedia Flash - which means you need firmware version 2.7 or higher with flash enabled (requires internet access).

How to use PSPTunes:

* Hover your cursor over a song and press X to play it
* The next and previous buttons allow you to change the track
* The pause button pauses the song, and play resumes it
* The volume slider at the bottom allows the volume to be controlled
* The song tracker underneath the song name displays the progress of the current song. Clicking on the tracker will bring it to that part of the song.

How to add songs to PSPTunes - you must use your computer

  1. First off, the PSP's web browser has a habit of running out of memory - it is therefore suggestible that you compress your mp3 songs to a size of about 500KB. This can be done with mp3 compression software.
  2. You can copy these mp3 songs to anywhere on your PSP - the music folder under PSP is a good place.
  3. Open playlist.xml in notepad. It is located in the psptunes folder
  4. Add a new line above </player> and enter the following:
    <song src="________" name="________" artist="_______" />
src - for example: if your song was located in your PSP's music folder, you would type file:/PSP/Music/song.mp3
name - the song name - can include spaces
artist - the song artist - can include spaces
  5. Save and follow the instructions to open PSPTunes.

Troubleshooter

Q. I get a message saying "The content cannot be displayed"
A. First make sure you typed in the address right (file:/pspWxp/index.htm). If the error still occurs, you may not have put the files in the right place. Follow step one to try again. If that also fails, it's probably a bug. Post it on the forums and I should be able to fix it.

Q. I can't get to the desktop after the loading screen OR the text on the desktop and the start menu look squashed
A. The display mode must be set to normal. Change it by pressing triangle to bring up the toolbar and scroll to View and press X. Change the Display mode to Normal.
